What is the mission of the foundation?
The Nancy Ellen Crooks Foundation is committed to perpetuating the devotion and desire by Nancy Crooks to support, implement and develop to self-sustainability, projects which contribute to the improvement of the lives of women and children in Africa through opportunity and education. Does the foundation have any affiliations?
The Nancy Ellen Crooks Foundation is not affiliated with any religious or political entity or institution. Our foundation relies solely on the generosity of our donors to realize our goals. In which countries is the Nancy Ellen Crooks Foundation operating?
At present, the projects we support are based in Kenya (which is where Nancy Crooks resided for more than 40 years and where she influenced countless lives of those less fortunate than herself.). However, as our foundation grows, we look forward to extending our support to projects in neighboring countries. What is the legal status of the Nancy Ellen Crooks Foundation?
In the United States, our foundation is a sponsored project of Lift Up Africa which is a registered USA-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. In addition, the Nancy Ellen Crooks Foundation is officially registered in Kenya. How can I donate?
Donors have the option of contributing by mail or online (all major credit cards accepted). For specific details on donating, please visit our Donate webpage. Can I make a donation "In Memory of" a family member or friend?
Absolutely! All donors are given the option to have their contribution listed "In Memory of" or "In Honor of" whomever they choose. Please note that your donation will appear on Meet Our Donors webpage. Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes, if you are a resident of the United States or Kenya. What percentage of my donation actually goes to the women and children of Africa?
Approximately 90% of all monies donated go to directly to the projects we support. Although our entire staff and board members are volunteers, unfortunately, we do have operating expenses that are not free - e.g., fees for processing donor credit card transactions, postage, printing, accounting services, and legal services. Can I have my company make matching contributions?
